Highlights from Jordan McNair Field Day at JC Nalle Elementary School

Were they hype? Absolutely! Earlier this month the students at NCCF’s community school program at JC Nalle Elementary School were treated to a fun afternoon of food and sports sponsored by University Maryland Athletics and UMD Terps Football in honor of their teammate Jordan McNair. McNair, who tragically passed away last year during practice is missed by his UMD teammates, who reported that this “day-of-play” was an excellent way to remember him and honor his legacy. UMD’s visit is also an excellent tie-in for JC Nalle’s Community School programming where there is a big focus on promoting the value of a college education., In fact, signs all over the JC Nalle campus feature the logo and distances to colleges all over the US, including the University of Maryland, so this opportunity to interact with college football players one-on-one was a great way to show students how much they have ahead of them as they prepare and plan for their own education.
